Weekend Recap: Brooke Storer Wins at Citrus County

Brooke Storer Wins at Citrus County Speedway

September 28, 2020 – Brooke Storer wins at Citrus County; and is now a back-to-back winner in the Brandon Ford Wheel Man Series. One week after Storer dominated at 4-17 Southern Speedway, she takes the flag at Citrus County Speedway.

After taking the pole in qualifying, Storer quickly drove through the field, dodging numerous wrecks along the way. She took the lead just after halfway, then dominated the second half of the race. Coming into the final dozen laps, the clutch began to slip. Adam Briggs was able to pass for the lead on a late race restart. Though, when it was all said and done, the trophy was awarded to Brooke in post-race technical inspection.

“I told my team, my dad and Jason (Boyd), on lap one that this was our race to lose,” Storer told Speed51.com in a post race interview. “Even though we were starting twelfth. that thing fired off and I couldn’t have been more happy. I’ve never had such a good race car anywhere I’ve been. So, shout out to those guys. They make it possible for me, York, Air One, Eagle Steel, PFC, Eibach. To be able to park these guys in victory lane and get fast time two weeks in a row is really impressive and I couldn’t be more happy.”

Looking Forward

The No.9 will now go back to the shop and get a full once over as the countdown begins for the High Kick 99.

“I’m excited for the High Kick,” said Storer. “This is absolutely the best race car I’ve ever had. We’re chasing wins, and the High Kick is one of those trophies that’ll look good in my case. We’ll get the clutch issue fixed and get her ready for the biggest race of the year.”

Weekend Preview: Wheel Man Series at Citrus County

September 24, 2020 – The Brandon Ford Wheel Man Racing Series season continues this Saturday night at Citrus County Speedway. Brooke Storer and the No.9 crew look to double down and pick up her second victory in back-to-back weeks.

“I’m really excited for this weekend’s race,” said Storer. “We’re coming off of a victory last weekend at 4-17 Southern Speedway where we really showed up the field with some of our new partners on board. I’m looking forward to doing it again this weekend.”

Storer currently sits sixth in overall points with only three races to go in the 2020 Wheel Man Series. Something she’s gunning to overcome in the coming weeks.

“We’re looking to maximize points every weekend from here on out,” Storer continued. “Overall victories, most laps lead, qualifying up front, we want them all, because that’s what it’s going to take to win this championship.”
